Hong Kong, China’s Chu Tsun-wai took silver in the men’s omnium event at the Asian Games on Thursday, marking the team’s second silver at the Izu Velodrome on the same day. The omnium comprises the scratch race, tempo race, elimination race and points race. The 25-year-old was in the first place overall at the halfway stage of the omnium before he dropped a spot after the elimination race. He finished eighth in the points race to bring the total score to 166 to take silver. Japan’s Kanta Umezawa clinched the gold medal with 193 points, while Wu Junjie from China rounded out the podium.
