When asked about his motivations for creating the website, Mr Lee Lin Cher – a prolific writer with more than 16 publications to his name – had this to say:

“For way too long, students – and possibly adults – have seen the pursuits of success, education and strategy as three different wheels running independently of one another. What they don’t understand is that these three pursuits are cogs that drive the wheel of one’s life.”

“When the three cogs work in harmony with one another, the life of the individual wheels forward smoothly and easily. My assumption is that everyone aspires towards a smooth and easy-flowing life, and not one filled with pain and suffering.”

In a blog post entitled ‘About the Launch of Cult of Cher’, the ex-secondary school English Language teacher – who still teaches English in a private learning centre setting on the weekends – gave a blow by blow account of each of the elements in the SESTM formula.

According to the renegade teacher, the elaborate explanation is to ensure that misconceptions do not arise from the reader’s preconceived notions about what each of the elements means, especially when the first two – notably Success and Education – are hot potato topics, not just in Singapore, but in every part of the developed world.
